About

I have always enjoyed entertaining — the time spent with close friends and family, reflecting on the good times while creating new moments — and at the center of a good evening is good food. I am self-taught in the kitchen, drawing inspiration from my mother, while studying and learning from various resources, including magazines, television and cookbooks. There is something about the process of preparing a meal or baking goodies that I love.

I knew I wanted to start a cooking blog, but didn’t really know how I wanted it set up. One day a friend called me and needed a recipe for a dessert. I called and gave her one. No biggie. Then a day later another friend called and had question about preparing pork. And a week later, another friend called with another cooking question, and Dean finally said “it’s sort of like you are a kitchen sherpa — you’re like a guide through the kitchen which for some people is like climbing Mt. Everest.” And from that, Kitchen Sherpa was born.

A down and dirty list about me:

I love my husband, my family, and friends.
Four very special cats own me.
I LOVE Tennessee football.
I cook with All-Clad pots and pans and use Henckels knives.
I have a red kitchen. (See header on blog)
I have lots of weaknesses including, but not limited to: chocolate, Krispy Kreme donuts, my cats, fresh sheets, a new cookbook, cheesecake, books, heirloom tomatoes, lamps, purses, taking pictures, the beach, a big cutting board, cheeses, farmer’s markets, and my friends.

    Jenni,
Just reading your blog makes me hungry! You should start your own Martha Stewart south! I loved your story about the raspberry cat. Imaginary pictures are much better!
